I love the graphics that are often used in international racing, particularly this one that shows where every horse is in the field… why don’t we have stuff like this on UK racing?
Oxbow wins the 138th Preakness Stakes . May 18, 2013
Congratulations to owner Calumet Farm, trainer D. Wayne Lukas and jockey Gary Stevens.
Congratulations to Oxbow and connections. I think my main learning from this is to always oppose the Kentucky Derby winner in the Preakness as their odds will always be artificially short due to the desperation to see a Triple Crown winner… fair?
By request: Farhh (yes, anon, you did spell it wrong the first time)
2008 son of Pivotal, out of Gonbarda
Raced sparingly through his career, Farhh has only contested six starts in his three years of racing
As a juvenile, he won his only race, a maiden stakes at Newmarket
In 2011, Farhh recorded only one other race, a win in a handicap also at Newmarket
He has started four times so far in 2012, winning only his initial handicap at Thirsk in May
Farhh was third behind So You Think in the Princess of Wales Stakes, second behind Nathaniel in the Eclipse Stakes, and second behind Frankel in the Sussex Stakes
His next start is a more then probably the Juddmonte International later this month, and he is overall being pointed toward the Arc de Triomphe in October
Comprehensive winner of the Lockinge Stakes today. Yet another compliment to Frankel!

Breeder’s Cup Baby!
Last year’s Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Flotilla had added another triumph to her resume: the Grade 1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches - commonly known as the French 1000 Guineas
After a five-month layoff (she hasn’t raced since her Breeder’s Cup win), Flotilla was virtually ignored in the betting in favor of undefeated Prix Vanteaux winner Esoterique. She proved them all wrong when her powerful finishing kick put her ahead of Esoterique by a half length on the wire
Flotilla will be likely be pointed one of two ways: a rematch with Esoterique in the Prix de Diane at Chantilly on June 16; or a try against English 1000 Guineas winner Sky Lantern, whom she already defeated at the Breeder’s Cup, in the Coronation Stakes at Ascot
